The Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Gregory Mott, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of: Bus Drivers / Custodial Poughkeepsie City School District Qualifications: Meets Civil Service qualifications for position; Valid NYS Driver's License B with P&S endorsements Duties: This work involves the operation of an automotive vehicle used to transport students and/or passengers, and the primary/secondary responsibility for building cleaning, operation and minor maintenance activities in a school. Examples of work: Operates on a school bus on a regular schedule and/or special occasions; checks the operating condition of the bus before starting on a trip; reports any defects to superior; maintains orderly conduct of passengers on bus; participates in all building cleaning and minor maintenance activities; checks to ensure that buildings are cleaned, locked and in readiness for all activities; keeps simple activity records. Appointment: Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service.
